Diary of a Mad Cat
Friday Night Lament: Fuzzball held hostage 26
Thanksgiving approaches and the nanny interviews begin...

All I wanted, kits and kittens, was a comfortable life. Food on demand, treats 'round the clock, primping and hair brushing 3 times a day, naps in warm, sunny places, total slavish devotion from all whom I survey from my red velvet pillow with the golden tassels... that's all I wanted.

But, as old wives often say, "be careful what you wish for"!

Cooking for the Kitchen Illiterate

Cooking for the Kitchen Illiterate: Tales of a not-so-great Chef
When I sat down to figure out what recipe to use for my inaugural Cooking for the Kitchen Illiterate column, it took me awhile to come up with the right one. It would have to be something I actually knew how to cook, and couldn't be so hard that I'd accidentally call out the fire department if I made a mistake (I know, I know, calling out the fire department WOULD give me loads of research material for my next book, but I try not to embarrass myself that often).

What's the Gossip at Changeling?

What are those clever little writers up to lately? Who's been good? Who's been naughty? What are they working on for Y-O-U?

Jade Buchanan just can't get enough of hairy men apparently! Faun of a Time releases in November and the heroes, a faun and a werewolf are both used to shedding on the carpet... although not quite as much as her Felidae.

Speaking of Felidae, Jade is filling her head these days with lions and tigers and... humans? I hear she's hard at work on the next Pridelands book, playing with a female Leo, a male Tigris and a human who has no idea what they have in store for him...

Facts of Life

Miniature Books

Miniature books have existed since the 16 th century. Some were so tiny that you needed the magnifying glass tucked into the cover in order to read them. The world's smallest book - an edition of Old King Cole published in 1985 - is just 1mm square.

Time Out

by Emma Ray Garrett

Reneé George
This month, I corralled Reneé George to take a time out with me. Reneé is one of the most versatile writers I know and her Beast series certainly shows that! A little mystery, some YML, fantastic tension and very real, layered characters are just some of the things Reneé excels at!

The Healing Power of Sex
by Mary Winter

We all know sex feels good. But can it be good for us too? A trial involving more than 100 college students in 1999 found that the levels of immunoglobulin, a microbe-fighting antibody, in students who engaged in intercourse once or twice a week were 30% higher than in those who were abstinent. (Park, Alice, "Sexual Healing" , Time, January 19, 2004) Studies such as this one are showing that yes, sex can be as good for us as it feels.
