Alphabet Soup: Is it worth it?
by Silvia VioletI admit it. I'm not normal. I have a talent for worrying. I inherited it from my mother. No matter how well things are going in my life, I can find something to be anxious about. My writing is no exception. One of my pet worries is whether the time I spend writing is worth it. I know my life and the lives of my husband and daughter would run more smoothly if I weren't writing, so why do I keep doing it? Read more...

The World of the Shequanti
by Isabelle SpurrierI am a longtime fan of epic fantasy. I like the rich
worlds, the intricate political situations, the
mythological creatures and larger than life
characters. That love is at the root of my writing.
So, it wasn't surprising when I went back to those
roots to develop The Shequanti series. Read more...

The world of The Felidae
by Jade BuchananI admit it, the beginnings of this series first cropped up when I was at the dentist. Sitting in the chair, I winced when he started to drill into my teeth without enough freezing. While I waited for him to stop and put in more freezing, my mind wandered. I started to imagine what it would be like if someone else happened to enter my mind at that precise moment. Read more...

Friday Night Lament: Fuzzball 21Okay, kits and kittens! I've had all I can stands and I can't stands no more! (It's sort of a Popeye moment here at the Fuzz household)
Mom decided to 'eat more healthy' as a New Year's Resolution. Weeeeelllll, bring out the lassos and kiss my rodeo, mom! Just because YOU decide to 'eat more healthy' (imagine my beautiful orange paws making the quote marks here) doesn't mean that da FUZZ needs to change HIS diet! Read more...

You Can Fix It Too
by Emma Ray Garrett Fix It for March
Okay, so this month's column isn't a list of helpful hints, but rather a list of helpful tools. I'm sure most of us know what basic tools are, like hammers, screwdrivers, and pliers. But knowing what they are, and having them when you need them, are two different things, LOL! Read more...

At The Movies
by Isabella Jordan The Illusionist
Directed by Neil Burger. Starring Edward Norton, Paul Giamatti, Jessica Biel, and Rufus Sewell.
The Illusionist came out in theaters just before The Prestige, another period piece about magicians, and so I heard a lot of comparisons between the two films with The Prestige being favored. While I really enjoyed The Prestige, as you read in my review of that film a couple of months back, I'm here to tell you that The Illusionist is well worth a view. In fact, romance fans might like it better. There is a romance at the center of this story and it motivates everything that takes place. Read more...

Facts of Life by DaHeap Hidden Assets
Only seven of Emily Dickinson's poems were published during her lifetime. Most of the rest - some 1,770 poems and fragments-were found after she died in 1886, in the old family house she shared with her sister, Lavinia, in Amherst, Massachusetts.
