Facts of Life Human Computers? by DaHeap A computer running the program 'Albert' was awarded the 1999 Loebner Prize for the "most human" computer system, wqinning $2,000 for its author, Robby Garner from Georgia. 'Albert' is a program that a human can communicate with using human speech. The 11 judges of the annual Loebner Prize put systems through a restricted version of the Turing test, the classic test of machine intelligence. 'Albert One' won the 1997 Loebner Prize, and Mr. Garner won the 1998 award with a nother program called 'Sid'.
